A day on the Farm

Im still working on those Pics of the Fort Worth Omni artwork. Meanwhile I have had a great couple of days. I went up to north Georgia to have lunch with one of my star students and former state senator, Jane Hemmer. She has a beautiful 400 acre farm that defiantly brought back some childhood memories. I took several pictures and posted a couple on my site. Check a pic of one of her oreo cows below. Today I got to build and armature for a large sculpture designed my Marty. Im really starting to love armature building. It is such great exercise. You have to think through so many steps while mixing so many materials. This one involved fabricated welded steel supports with expanded metal build outs. Below is a pic of the finished armature with the small scale maquett. Also my mom came by the studio to visit for the day. awesome. So as you can see below, I put her to work. one more thing, check out the Cherrylion Studios blog now up and running at www.cherrylion.com

Ok, I know i promised updates. I haven't had much time to get any of my work done lately. I did just give myself a new Christmas present though. I picked up a new digital slr canon, so some new pictures should be coming soon. This camera is sick, check out the quality of this shot of the most handsome dog in the world. Hopefully tomorrow we will be delivering several pieces of art we have been working on for the Fort Worth Omni Hotel. I will try to post some pics tomorrow night.-Kevin Chambers

Well here goes...

I just turned 26 and figured I needed a blog. Long story long.... I'm a sculptor for a living, which means that I'm a " jack of all trades" in the art industry. I love to draw, paint, sculpt, photograph or just create. I'm have the great honor of being an apprentice to an incredible sculptor, Martin Dawe at Cherrylion Studios in Atlanta Georgia. I recently co-opened my first company with Martin, Cherrylion Workshop LLC. We do large production art casting, mainly for the hotel industry. I also teach 3 figurative sculpture classes to an amazing group of students at Cherrylion Studios. My classes just went on break until Jan. so I will try to keep this thing updated since I will have all that free time. HA HA. The workshop is working on a huge commission for a very prestigious hotel in Arizona, so my time is limited. I will try to update soon with some new sculpture, drawing and photography work. Check out my website for a full line of work www.kevinchambersart.com.
