Some pretty cool stuff. I have been selected to be in a show in Denver Colarado in March. The name of the show is Eros Pulse. Its a show showcasing the human figure in art. Im very excited it looks like it will be an awesome show. They are publishing a book of the work in the show this year which I will be in. I ordered my copy if you would like a copy you can pick one up at.. http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/576959

Not as important but still cool. Earlier this week I had a sculpture I did for Cherrylion published in the New York Times. It was just a small picture with no credit for the artist but still pretty exciting. I will be posting some new work soon I promise, I have a ton of drawings that all need to be scanned and a bunch of photos to edit and some new sculpture work I PROMISE.

A "lion" for Cherrylion

Here is a couple pics of the 3' lion's head I have been sculpting for Cherrylion. This was one of the most challenging pieces I have ever sculpted, but I had a blast and really feel like I learned a lot. It will be installed as fountain head in a local building in Atlanta. Thanks to Marty, Elio, Joe, Bob, and Ulysses for the group critique it is always good to be led in the right direction by artist that you respect so much. I also attached a few sketches I have been playing around with in my free time ( ha ha).

Finally

Well....were to start? My sculpture classes have started back. I love the inspiration I get from my students. Thanks guys! Also Joe Karg has started teaching a drawing class at the studio, which is giving me some time to get some drawing in again. Thank God! As soon as I get around a working scanner I will post some. I just found out that got into a show in Colorado called ErosPulse (http://www.erospulse.com). Thanks to Bob Kelly for hooking me up with that info. I posted some new commission stuff that I have been working on at cherrylion to the website. I also posted some new photos in the photography section. Check out some of the pictures from my recent blairsville trip above.

A day on the Farm

Im still working on those Pics of the Fort Worth Omni artwork. Meanwhile I have had a great couple of days. I went up to north Georgia to have lunch with one of my star students and former state senator, Jane Hemmer. She has a beautiful 400 acre farm that defiantly brought back some childhood memories. I took several pictures and posted a couple on my site. Check a pic of one of her oreo cows below. Today I got to build and armature for a large sculpture designed my Marty. Im really starting to love armature building. It is such great exercise. You have to think through so many steps while mixing so many materials. This one involved fabricated welded steel supports with expanded metal build outs. Below is a pic of the finished armature with the small scale maquett. Also my mom came by the studio to visit for the day. awesome. So as you can see below, I put her to work. one more thing, check out the Cherrylion Studios blog now up and running at www.cherrylion.com
